i am in the NYC, in the cold and I have been spending my days post mexico with MANA- great band, and books. i huddle myself in and I barely work these days since fourth year is so light.
I am reading too many books and am yet to get through them all. I finished Kite runner which I have made almost 7 or 8 people read since it is so awesome. Fine Balance and then Kite Runner. Back to back awesome fiction.
I am in the middle of Pathologies of Power: Health Care Human Rights and the new war on the Poor by Farmer. I am in the middle of the Health Care and Human Rights reader by John Mann, the late great doctor activist. I am reading the spirit catches you and you fall down for a class credit. Its on a Hmong family coming to the states and their little girl has seizure disorder and how the family runs up against the american medical world.
I checked out A heartbreaking tale of staggering genius which is good so far, and Buckminster Fuller and Audrey Lorde collected poems. So I am surrounded by music and books to get through this NY march. P my future brother in Law is sleeping on my bed- hes here for a couple days.
My sis b just got a fullbright to India and accepted to the Berkeley PHD program in ESPM. P was telling me yesterday that they think they might have me marry them. Crazy. I need to get serious about learning whatever it is I need to know.
other news... two days till match. i found out i matched yesterday but i dont know where yet. i am planning on heading to india in the next few weeks... for a couple of reasons i want to head back to Oaxaca but I dont know if that is gonna happen.
