i am in the middle of this book. and somehow it strikes a cord in the middle of my own life 40 years after it was written.
I have seen too many IV drug abusers today. with AIDS. and one in particular is trying to exit out of his particular spiritual darkness. and my relative ambivalence speaks of my own darkness.
he had a bible out at 7 in the morning on a sunday. and he wanted off of methadone.
