my folks just came to visit. it was different having to show them around in a place all my own. have them see my inhabitance for the last year and a half. where a good proportion of their income is sucked into.
this one little room draped with a Palestinian flag at my window, the painting John painted, a small plaque of the medical symbol michelle gave me and a rumi poem above my laptop. It was clean though. I cleaned on and off throughout the day it along with my bathroom. it was kinda clean to begin with though.
okay, gotta get some sleep- i am going to try to wake up a few hours from now and meet them for coffee before they head to JFK.
finals in a week and a half. cumulative.
i feel like roaming these days in the countryside. taking a trip, a road trip. wandering. being a nomad for a bit. maybe sometime soon. i want to see America like that hippee jack karo-whack did or maybe like che roamed up and down south america.
beto and tom are both useless. cant drive. ive been telling them for years. they are the only two folks i can think of that would be spontaneous enough for whatever comes along.
anyway i dont know why i am thinking about this right now. actually i do. i picked up che's motorcycle diaries today. he was about my age when he took that trip.
for now my spontaneity is with small stuff within the regimine of cardiac case studies at 9 am.
but i am loving cardiology right now. i have to figure out if it lends itself to the population i want to work with(most of the non western world dont die of no coronary heart disease from too much mickey D's)
