not so much time to write.
i am trying to set a schedule where i can move along catching up on school as the Nov 8th exam comes close and still sit for 1/2 hour and read this book hash's girl neelam lent me- I know this much is true.
So far it has been a page turner. I am 140 pages in but it is a 900 pg book.
Suheir opens on broadway today. I bought tickets for the Def Poetry Jam for NOv 16th. Hopefully I'll get to kick it with her for a sec.
Talked to John today. he got a promotion at work:) Glad for that.
talked to my mom. We are organizing a Shanti for my dad on Thanksgiving weekend. You are supposed to have one when you turn 60 and it is supposed to help with health stuff but we skipped it. After he had a stoke this summer, a family friend convinced him to have one. The children have to plan it. Thats the rule.
Gurm is up for some big things at work too. Might come out to the east side. He's been reading this journal too.(some people say diary but i'm sticking to "journal" kinda like Gurm claiming Richmond even though he's from El Sobrante:) Its all the same. journal sounds less ann frank girly.
i've been reading the Kurt Cobain diaries from newsweek. my roomate gets it. He is actually a super interesting, sensitive cat. The mainstream MTV media corporate leeches used him and now are trying to get rich on his tortured life which they tortured. I love how every journalist comments as an innocent bystander on how manipulative the media is. Kind like that COPS producer in Michael Moore's new movie. Go see the movie if you haven't. Awesome. He is on Oprah on Friday. I wonder how he is going to handle that audience, the very non political but well meaning folks. If he breaks down that the US is funding the mass murder of innocents and its our tax money that funds most of it the church of Oprah might not have so many AMENS!! a raging.
other than that.......my sister is full 6 months pregnant. I am trying to think of girls names. I have revelations on the late night and email them to both her and John(he's indian kannada christian) only to get rejected. My last one was Taslima like the dope rebel poetess. if you folks have some ideas, tell me. ----------------------------- Uma and Kala and Ravi and Roopa and all these family friends are visiting nov 8th weekend. Another family friend from texas is rolling it too. They are probably all gonna want to club hard. We'll see.
I have taken the leap into no alcohol zone. for now. for how long, we'll see. somewhat inspired by a poem by RUMI where he claims that nobody should have the arrogance to pursue sedation. No one should claim an awareness so great that the dulling of senses is a good idea.
